Abstract
This paper describes some of the practical issues for validating power system models and application results in order to improve state estimation solution quality and reliability. Hydro One made systematic efforts in model error identification and parameter tuning to achieve satisfactory state estimator performance for real time operations. Some of the experiences, challenges and results are presented.
