Abstract :
A novel and generic ´single bit primary element, secondary codebook storage quantisation´ (SBPE-SSQ) scheme which reduces considerably vector quantisation (VQ) or matrix quantisation (MQ) storage demands while not compromising the quantisation performance is presented. In the context of LPC parameter quantisation, SBPE-SSQ achieves a 70% reduction in the storage requirements of a split matrix quantiser (SMQ).
