Abstract :
Results obtained by using the fast neutron activation analysis (FNAA) with the associated alpha particle for underwater analysis (salinity of 38 g/L) of Ca, Mg-rocks, and Si-rocks, which are the main types of rocks found in the Adriatic Sea, have been presented. Geochemical data of coastal sea sediments in the Adriatic Sea acquired by the energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) analysis are also presented. The data obtained can be used to evaluate the background for neutron sensor underwater applications used in threat material analysis.
