Describes the Intelsat 5 the latest in a series of international communications satellites which can accommodate 13400 telephone circuits and two television channels. It is scheduled for launch in 1979 or early 1980. When the active system is completed in the mid 1980s, Intelset 5 satellites will bring high capacity service to the Pacific Indian Ocean and Atlantic regions.
