Abstract
This paper discusses a method of estimating urban wind power and energy by means of wind tunnel experiments. A case study in one building in Montreal called Equiterre building is discussed in detail. The wind speed field measurements for Equiterre building for three months is used to calculate the wind power and energy. The calculated wind energy is compared with the estimation by a methodology presented in this paper with error less than 40% obtained. Then this methodology is used to estimate the wind power and energy for one year over the roof of Equiterre building.
