Abstract
Discusses Western Europe´s power needs to gear 2000 which are expected to require new technology, a high level of international cooperation and extensive applications of mature technology. The new technology is expected to be largely nuclear with breeder reactors playing a large part. Pumped storage system design advances are expected also.
