Abstract :
An all-optical inverted operational amplifier that has the characteristic of being both an optical inverter and an amplifier designed based on the negative nonlinear absorption effect has been realised by using an erbium-doped fibre amplifier with a feedback ring resonator. A NOR-type logic gate operation has been demonstrated using two optical signals of 1.53 μm
