Abstract :
To suppress multiple access interference (MAI) and inter-symbol interference (ISI) present in the uplink of a wavelet packet multiple access system (WPMA), a method comprising a wavelet packet function based RAKE, followed by a multi-channel decision feedback equaliser (DFE) is proposed to retrieve the transmitted signals for each user. In addition, the diversity combining technique is applied to combat the deep fading encountered in mobile channels. Simulation results show that, once the WPMA system transfers signals over time-varying Rayleigh fading channels, the receiver is very effective in combatting interference
