Abstract :
Digital cockpit control panels which include a few electronic display screens are replacing the rows of indicators in commercial airline aircraft. These new aircraft: the Boeing 757 and 767 and the Airbus Industrie A310 are designed to be flown by two rather than three crew members. The author outlines this display and control instrumentation including the flight management system and the engine indication and crew alerting system.
