Abstract :
A semiblind test of the geometric theory of diffraction (GTD) terrain sensitive propagation model was made. For the two test profiles considered, the GTD model results agreed very well with measurements. This good agreement was obtained after manual determination of the piecewise-linear approximations to the actual terrain profiles. Before general use of the GTD model will be possible, the profile linearization process must be automated
