Abstract :
The one-dimensional electromagnetic inverse problem for a stratified dispersive and dissipative slab is considered in the time domain. An optimization approach is used to reconstruct the parameters using the measured reflected field and/or transmitted field. Wave-splitting is used, and an explicit expression for the gradient is derived by introducing dual functions. The reconstruction algorithm is tested with both synthetic and experimental data
