Abstract :
This paper presents the operating problems of the interconnection between Colombia and Venezuela power systems through a single 230 kV transmission line. It describes the technical analysis carried out for the stabilization of a sustained power flow oscillation of 0.22 Hz. The analysis includes results of simulations and field recordings obtained in the system. Operating strategies adopted and the conclusions of the study are also summarized
