Abstract :
IEEE General Manager and Executive Director H. A. Schulke, Jr., has tendered his resignation effective July 22, 1977. In a letter to 1977 IEEE President Robert Saunders, Dr. Schulke cited as his reason for leaving ¿the burgeoning scope of USAB programs into new areas of activity and the amount of time and effort required to be spent in determining what the extent of these activities should be.¿ Said Dr. Schulke in his letter to Dr. Saunders, ¿In attempting to meet USAB´s demands, I do not find the time to address properly the many other important activities of the Institute or to engage in technical activities. For me, such technical activity is an essential element of professional satisfaction and one that I hoped I would find as IEEE´s General Manager. Such is not the case though.¿
