Abstract :
In orthogonal frequency division multiplexing, OFDM, pilot-symbol distribution can be viewed as a 2D sampling problem related to the channel frequency response. Current pilot patterns with a common notation are formulated and a novel hexagonal pilot geometry proposed. Which is optimum in terms of sampling efficiency and provides better performance than any other patterns
