Abstract :
The 8085 microcomputer system runs 8080 programs without modification and is buscompatible with 8080 components. Upgrading includes a reduction in components ¿ a typical three-chip 8085 system can replace up to ten or more 8080-system components. The operating rate with standard-speed memory is 3 MHz instead of 2 MHz; throughput can be increased 50 percent in some applications.
