Abstract :
Creeping is a time dependent characteristic and is an intrinsic problem in piezoresistive (e.g., strain gauge) transducers. The creeping behavior of a transducer limits the performance of it in high-resolution applications due to data drifting problem over time. In other words, the effective resolution of the transducer is lower than it should be. A rule-based data tracking scheme is developed in order to reduce the effects of creeping, and preserve the resolution of the transducer. The proposed scheme employs rule-based intelligent system technique and is easy to implement with advanced low cost microcontroller. Testing results of the proposed scheme are also presented in this paper.
