Abstract
It is shown that to obtain the complete radiation pattern of a transmission line antenna it is necessary to include the effects of radiation from the open end of the line even though the overall effect is small. A theoretical method based on earlier empirical result that allows this term to be calculated is devised. In an experiment specially to enhance this normally second-order term, the accuracy of the proposed correction factor was clearly demonstrated
