Abstract :
The focus of this paper is to characterize the performance of a RAKE receiver tracking the L strongest multipath components and to quantify the effects of the chip rate on spread spectrum systems operating in dense multipath frequency-selective fading environments. Analytical expressions for the symbol error probability are derived in terms of the chip rate, multipath spread of the channel and an arbitrary number of combined paths.
