Abstract :
An analysis of the dynamic behavior of a second-order digital filter operating outside the region of absolute stability in the case of saturation nonlinearity of the accumulator is presented. Bifurcation phenomena associated with changes of one of the parameters of the filter´s linear part are investigated. On the basis of a numerical study, it is conjectured that systems trajectories become chaotic for some parameter ranges. Several interesting bifurcation patterns have been revealed-including devil´s staircase and self-similar, fan-type structures
