Abstract :
For the original article see ibid., vol.38, no.11, p.1623-30 (1990). The commenter states that the above-named work by M.L. Lumori et al. is not new, and he goes on to cite previous works in this field. The authors reply that they did not claim that their application of Gaussian beams was pioneering and they explain the goals of their work.<>
