Abstract
This paper reports on a method which will be used to calculate the magnetic field of uniformly magnetized cylinders with a bore hole. The method is based upon a description of their geometry using a symmetrical tensor of second rank. The applicability of the method presented is shown by investigating the outer field of magnetized cylinders with a multiple connected source area for both the three-dimensional (3-D) and the two-dimensional (2-D) cases
