Abstract :
The authors describe newly developed LSIs (large-scale-integrated circuits) to be used to process video signals for VCRs. These LSIs, equipped with functions to process luminance and chrominance signals on a single chip, reduce VCR manufacturing costs, save valuable PCB (printed circuit board) area, enhance picture quality, and feature a multifunction design. The LSIs demonstrate higher performance and have fewer pins than other LSIs, which required 54 to 64 pins. The number of peripheral parts for the new LSI is 30% less than that for conventional two-chip LSIs
