Abstract :
A study of the hardware complexity and cost impact of several proposed decoders for digital high-definition TV (HDTV) is presented. The digital HDTV receiver is examined, with emphasis on the demodulator, the video decoder, the computation of the inverse discrete cosine transform, and memory. Cost factors are addressed in detail
