Abstract
A discussion is presented of functional electrical stimulation and other technologies to aid the handicapped. The areas discussed include: paralyzed limb and organ stimulation; powered artificial limbs and robotic sensory aids; and, functional-assessment systems to provide data on the capabilities and deficiencies of the handicapped, facilitating diagnosis and therapy.
