Abstract
A discussion is presented of a company in which ambition and aggression are the keys to getting ahead. This need for forceful communication and aggressive behavior was dictated by the company´s structure. The organization was set up in a matrix: groups report to at least two managers; people within each group trade information directly with peers in other groups. Most decisions were made by committee. Given such an interwoven organization, employees have to carve out a niche for themselves to survive: they must speak loudly to make their views known.
