[Letters to the Editor]

After reading both articles on undergraduate engineering education (“The way I see it,” IEEE Potentials, July/August 2011), I definitely think adding another year would be very helpful to engineering students around the country. I am an electrical engineering student entering my senior year, and … I have always received very good grades, but I am still stuck with that feeling that I´m missing an important part of my education and learning experience. My problem with education (at least at Binghamton) is that there is simply not enough room for the hands-on, practical experience that is so essential to building successful engineers.
