Abstract :
In this paper, a large scale the medium-voltage DC (MVDC) all-electric ship (AES) integrated power system (IPS) is modeled. The MVDC IPS includes all main elements of the chain, i.e. from power generators to control units down to electric motors. The parameters for the electric motors are converted from the 15-phase induction motor used in the large scale AC IPS and the inverter is modeled by the averaging methods to suit system-level studies. Finally, both feasibility and effectiveness of this new modeling method of MVDC IPS are verified by PSCAD.
