Abstract
1838 The first electric telegraph, installed between Paddigton and West Drayton, a distance of 13 miles, by cooks and wheatstone, used five wires operated in pairs, thus parmitting 20 litters to be transmitted. Only this instrument and its companion, now in Berlin´s postal museum, were produced.
