Abstract
An upsurge in demand throughout the United States for engineers specializing in electromagnetics is putting heavy pressure on universities and industry to expand educational programs in this area. The Hughes Aircraft Co. in El Segundo, Calif., alone says it needs more than 120 such engineers this year and a similar number next year. And on the East Coast, the Raytheon Co. of Bedford, Mass., is planning to recruit scores of microwave specialists in the next few years.
