Abstract
Instrumentation is a broad field, encompassing a broad spectrum of engineering and scientific disciplines. But there is a dearth of colleges and universities at which the subject can be studied in depth. ¿If you want to do graduate work in instrumentation¿ said William D. Walker, president and chief executive officer of Electro-Scientific Industries Inc. of Portland, Ore., ¿then go to work for Hewlett-Packard or Tektronix.¿
