Abstract
Pulsed lock-up torque exists when the solar arrays of satellite deploy, which have an effect on the satellite attitude. With the development of satellites, it tends to have higher power with more solar arrays which result in more severe impact during the deployment. Considering the constraints of the structure mass and the material performance, traditional passive damper cann´t satisfy the development trend. This paper proposed an active damper design based on Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) taking the advantage of its high power density and dynamic performance. Simulation and experiment results verify the effectiveness, which prove that the proposed method is a valuable reference to be applied in the solar array deployment in future.
