Abstract
While much of the attention regarding virtualization in the software community has been focused on server applications, embedded applications can also benefit from the latest advances in multicore processors and hardware support for virtualization. Multicore processors offer a unique means to combine new features with legacy code and to host multiple operating systems (OSs) on a single platform. For example, a highly integrated system can be constructed with a real-time OS (RTOS) and a general-purpose OS (GPOS) running on separate cores of a single processor.
