Abstract
The concluding article in a series of six on engineering work environments and the bench-level and managing engineers that work in them is presented. Four companies-manufacturers of computers, semiconductors, military equipment, and consumer products-were the focus of the study. A summary of the different management setups in the four companies and the effects on electrical engineers was studied by a psychologist and compared with other engineering environments.
