Abstract :
A lip contour extraction algorithm based on a deformable geometric model is proposed. The algorithm employs a stochastic cost function to find an optimum partition of an image into lip and nonlip regions such that the joint probability of the two regions is maximised. Experiments show that robust lip contour extraction from colour lip images is possible
