Abstract :
We propose a communication strategy for a three-node wireless network, where the relay nodes generate their own data besides decoding and forwarding other nodes messages. Unlike previous work, we consider that the nodes are arbitrarily located on a 2D plane, are equipped with half-duplex radios and require a fair rate allocation. We quantify the performance in terms of achievable rate as the SNR conditions, the network geometry and the nodes traffic demand vary, and compare it to the cut-set bound that we derive for the network under study. Furthermore, we show that our strategy outperforms that proposed in .
