  • Abstract
    A new batching policy denoted double-rate (DR) batching is proposed for providing true video on demand (VoD) services in a multicast environment. Simulations show that our batching scheme not only achieves a very small start-up delay for the customer but also performs better than the piggybacking approach in terms of the bandwidth requirement
