Abstract :
An analog partial response maximum likelihood (PRML) channel solution for ¼" helical scan VTR is presented. The main building blocks are the head amplifier, the channel IC containing an equalizer, an analog Viterbi detector, clock recovery, automatic track following (ATF) processing, and the corresponding servo and control system
