Abstract :
In order to solve the problems of the traditional calibration way which is workload-intensive, high-cost and inefficient, the model-based calibration method has been proposed for EUP diesel engine. By means of the optimal experimental design method, the V-Optimization experiment of EUP diesel engine has been designed. And according to the statistical modelling method, the two-stage statistical model has been established, in which the local model uses polynomial splines and the global model is RBF hybrid model. Then global optimization and ESC operating point optimization have been carried out, getting the maps of control parameters of fuel injection quantity per cycle, fuel supply advance angle and EGR valve opening percentages. Meanwhile the bench test has been conducted on YC4E170 EUP diesel engine, which shows that after the model-based calibration of ESC operating point, specific fuel consumption has been reduced, fuel economy has become better, and the workload has been greatly reduced compared to conventional calibration process. The calibration process is repeatable and it is a practical means of calibration. It has been demonstrated that the model-based calibration method is effective from the test results.
