Abstract
In order to get the magnetic forces acting on the end winding of the inverter-fed induction machine considering the effect of harmonic current, we conducted a 2-D field-circuit coupling analysis by time-stepping finite element method (FEM) to get the current density on the stator winding at each time, then a 3-D electromagnetic FEM analysis are proposed to get the magnetic forces on the end winding loaded with the current density calculated just now. The study shed light on the study of the calculation of the magnetic forces on the end winding of an induction machine with the non-sinusoidal supply.
