Abstract :
A description is given of a graduate course on computer-aided microwave circuit design, which was added to the electromagnetics/microwaves curriculum at the University of Colorado in 1984. The three important components of this course are: lectures on microstrip circuit design, the use of CAD software with an open source code, and an experimental term project. Motivations for introducing such a course, the course organization philosophy, and the detailed course contents are discussed. It is recommended that such a course be considered to be included as part of the curriculum of other institutions also
