Abstract :
A computationally efficient closed-form approximation to the bounded part of the exact kernel, partitioned after Schelkunoff (1952), of a cylindrical antenna integral equation is given. The approximation together with the existing elliptic integral representation of the singular part effectively obviates numerical integration in the evaluation of the kernel. Sample results obtained from method-of-moments solutions are given to validate the approximation.
