Abstract :
The author comments that the contention of T. Kirubaran and Y. Bar-Shalom (ibid., vol. 32, pp. 1367-84, 1996) on the target motion and measurement models being realistic is debatable and that the observer dynamics that are assumed is generally not observed. Kirubaran and Bar-Shalom reply to these comments and defend their stance.
