  • Abstract
Grid connected voltage source inverters are increasingly used in the fields of power exchange with grid, but not enough attention was paid to its start-up inrush current. In this paper, the hazard of the start-up inrush current of voltage source inverter in high power usage was explained and its production mechanism was analyzed. The paper also presented a control strategy of the converter to mitigate the inrush current based on injecting a reverse DC component current to the main circuit. Simulation are provided to verify the feasibility of the method and the results show a good performance in reducing the inrush current in start up and also the DC offset in stable state.
