Abstract
The authors describe the functions and features of an automated distribution system which they have developed through studying and developing various types of distribution automation systems. This noninterruption system, with a high speed communication system and line sensors, significantly reduces both the time and the area affected by fault interruptions. The noninterruption system includes the following features: high performance, noninterruption on ground faults, quick isolation of short-circuit faulted sections, high reliability, easy expansion, and economy. These features exist thanks to the following components: multiplex master computer system, fiber optic communication system, optical line sensor, and SF6 gas switch. It is concluded that the noninterruption system provides power authorities with a means of significantly improving the quality of their power supply
