Abstract :
We have considered a cognitive radio (CR) network in the presence of a primary network in which the cognitive users are distributed within the cognitive environment with constant density. In particular, we assumed that the primary transmitter and PR handshake so that the same spectrum bands can be utilized while also avoiding interference. For this reason, the handshaking technique occurs when the base station or primary receivers (PR) sends a beacon signal over the licensed spectrum network. We followed two techniques to calculate the expected aggregated interference caused by CRs that miss the beacon signal.
