Abstract :
Bit error rate (BER) performance of switched diversity receivers is analyzed over κ-μ and η-μ fading channels using moment generation function (MGF) based approach. A novel mathematical expression for the MGF of the receiver output signal to noise ratio (SNR) is derived and BER for binary phase shift keying (BPSK) and coherent binary frequency shift keying (CBFSK) modulation schemes are obtained using it. The evaluated results are plotted for channel parameters of interest and the effect of fading on the combiner performance is studied.
