Abstract
Motor short-circuit contribution is a real consideration in low-voltage systems. It must be considered in deciding whether to apply series ratings of overcurrent protective devices. Virtually every electrical system has motors in it. This paper confirms the existence of low-voltage motor short-circuit contribution by test, examines some of the relevant literature, explores typical installations, and recommends application guidelines
