Abstract :
New architectures for M4R shape encoding and decoding are presented. The M4R method encodes the changing pixels in boundary blocks of two-dimensional shapes. Pipelined architectures for encoding and decoding which reduce memory access, use customized hardware to accelerate critical components, require little external control, and can be easily parallelized are described
