Abstract :
The classic scattering parameter (S-parameter) method for retrieving the medium parameters of a slab illuminated by a normally incident plane wave is generalized using new formulations when the oblique incidence and anisotropic model are considered. More importantly, a compensation method is presented for lossless or low-loss dielectric-composite slabs to remove the distortion of the retrieval results arisen from the Fabry-Pérot resonances.
