Abstract :
A translinear standard cell approach able to improve the design of analogue ASICs is introduced in the paper. Two basic cells consisting of only bipolar transistors are considered, and their equivalent symbols proposed. The properties which result from the various interconnections between cells are studied in detail. The advisability of implementing elementary cells and macrocells in a translinear form is demonstrated by the analysis of some illustrative examples. An implementation for a current conveyor with customised values for its current transfers is proposed. An analogue hierarchic library can then be constituted from the cells above in order to implement high performance analog ASICs
